On August 8, 9 and 10, from 9 to 12 in the morning, we gathered all GSP participants of this year, and held a workshop about making their cultural presentations on contemporary Japan. Students had been asked in advance to watch an instructions video prepared by our colleague Professor Satoko Shao-Kobayashi, and share with us a first draft of their presentations before the start of the three-day workshop.
Despite the difficulty of working in groups both online and face to face, and of trying to reach the following objectives set by the instructors, the majority (if not all) of the teams had reached a satisfying result by the end of the third day, although they will keep working on their presentations till the day of departure. Next rehearsal is to be held at the airport!
1)Learn a bit about local cultures.
2)Provide an ice break at the beginning of the program
3)Practice building logical presentations collaboratively
4)Break cultural stereotypes
