In the third preliminary education session, five students who participated in last year’s program in Thessaloniki, briefly talked about their experience of the program and about the academic and personal challenges they faced during the two weeks spent in Greece. Several questions by this year’s students ensued, with most of the inquiries focusing on methods used to solve problems of communication that may occur during group work. Patience and a great deal of willingness to convey one’s thoughts were deemed necessary in order to make the most of the global study programs.
At the end of the session, students were given 7 minutes to understand and 3 minutes to present the worksheets compiled in last week’s sessions. This exercise had two objectives: 1) to observe individual abilities to collaborate under pressure. 2) to demonstrate the instantaneous ability to present English.
